Off Road Rush

Ill be doing a heap of catch up posts as we have had a lot of drama's lately and I have not blogged for ages. Sorry.

For my husbands birthday last year all the family chipped in and bought him an Off Road Rush experience. Whats that you ask?

This is a heart pumping, exhilarating adrenalin packed adventure. Whether you choose the 4wd buggies or the Turbo WRX rally car (or both).

Check out these pictures

Coco Comes To Stay

On Friday when we picked Sophie up from school she was waiting on a chair for us with two bandaged knee's, a bandaged elbow and a smile on her face.

Although she had fallen over and hert her self she was proudly clutching a blue basket with a brown fuzzy little friend inside. The class pet. Coco.

Now your probably thinking guinea pig right. Well you would be wrong. Coco is a camel.

A stuffed toy, much to my delight which does not require feeding or cleaning up after. Got to love that!

We had a busy weekend and Sophie was thrilled about looking after Coco.

She played puzzles with Coco.

Made a tent and went camping in the lounge room with Coco and then turned the tent into the ocean and taught Coco how to surf.

Took Coco on the swings and explored the backyard, before reading a bedtime story and tucking Coco into bed with big ted.

On Sunday we went to Spears Point Park for a family birthday picnic. Whilst there Sophie taught Coco how to play soccer.

Next we headed over to the road safety bike track and Sophie taught Coco all about road signs and where to cross the road.

We also had to make an entry in Coco's journal. Sophie happily started going through my best scrapbooking papers and embellishments and fixated on my stash of Sassafras Lass.

She wanted so many different things included but we had to narrow it down to just a few. She had to make some flaps for her pictures to hide under and really really really wanted one of those circle things that turns around and shows the pictures through the window.

1st day of school

Today is Sophie's 1st day of school and we were all very excited.

We got up and had breakfast, packed bags, made lunches and got ready.

Before we knew it we had neighbours, Aunty's and Uncles all stopping in for photo's and to wish her well.

We got some pictures in the front yard and then headed off to school.

Sophie was very excited to show Auntie Val all her new things for Big School.

Mummy and Daddy are very proud of their big girl.

When we arrived at the office Sophie's year 6 buddy met with her to take her to her classroom.
We had a kiss and cuddle, said good by and we were gone.
no tears, no drama.
phew, a sigh of relief. I'm glad she was OK.

Well that's all folks

Australia Day Live

We decided to go to the Australia Day Live Wiggles concert this year.
Which was held the day B4 Australia Day on the lawns of Parliment House in Canberra.
It was stinking hot but we had a lot of fun regardless.

Whilst on one of our usual trips to Spotlight for scrapbooking supplies I spotted this yellow and white striped satin for $2 per meter. Of course yellow being Sophie's favourite colour I couldn't go past a deal like that so Sophie promptly requested an Aussie green and gold dress for the concert and some new boxer shorts.
This is what I came up with. A simple bodice with big circle skirt to make it extra twirly and big scallop cap sleeves to keep the sun off her shoulders. A green satin sash to tie it off with a big bow at the back. Sophie was very pleased and was not at all happy about having to take it off that night to go to bed.

Nandad dropped as at Woden bus terminus to get the show bus and only had to wait 4 or 5 minutes which was quite good considering the amount of people. But of course 5 minutes seems like an eternity for a 5 year old on a hot day when all you want to do is see the Wiggles.
This is Auntie Sam, Shaun and Sophie waiting, waiting, waiting.

On arrival we walked up to the concert area and decided to find some shade. It was even hotter in the city so we enjoyed an ice block and Sophie got a big purple balloon from the local radio station.

We headed into the concert area and got herded towards the middle like cattle, finally finding a small patch of grass sandwiched between a couple of families to sit down.
In came the Wiggles in there big red car and we were all clapping and singing along in no time.

Toot toot chuga chuga big red car.

After the concert we headed to the open area park away from the bulk of the crowds and watched the Rouletts air show.

We had a great avo especially Sophie.

well that's all folks
