1000 Sheets Of Paper Blog Candy

Today I stumbled upon this great blog called 1000 Sheets of Paper.

The blog is written by a woman named Amy who is crazy mad for paper crafting, "something I can definitely relate to".

Anyways Amy has been keeping track of how many sheets of patterned paper she cuts into to find out how long it would take to go through 1000 sheets of paper.

Well it took her just over a year and in celebration of this milestone she is having a blog candy give away.

What's up for grabs you may ask ???

Well 1000 sheets of paper of course, along with a delectable bounty of stamps.

So don't delay head on over and check out her wonderfully inspiring, and generous blog here.

well that's all folks

CHEERS, Donna.

Gday all,
Yesterday I was working on some new card designs and listening to some old Rock Box Cd's when all of a sudden my daughter started yelling for me to stop the music. Next thing I know she had sprinted off to her room and retrieved her little yellow guitar.
We were having so much fun dancing and rocking around in my tiny little craft room. Check it out.

Well that's all folks

Mad Hatter Card

Gday all,
I have new digital stamp set called Wonderland from The Greeting Farm and my first card using this stamp set was a Mad Hatter birthday flip flop card.
I used Sassafras Lass "Bungle Jungle" Bungle Dots for the base of the card, Yellow Cardstock for the smaller base, some black paper to mat another piece of Bungle Dots, some black ribbon, a 1.5 inch circle of white cardstock stamped with Happy Birthday and inked around the edge, and the mad hatter stamp which i coloured with water colour pencils and then clear embossed.

Well that's all folks.
Cheers Donna.

Karate Cards

Gday all,
Thought I would whip up a quick card or 2 using my new digital stamp from "The Greeting Farm" appropriately named KARATE IAN. My nephew and brother in law are learning the art of karate and I knew this digi stamp would be great for them the minute I sore it.

This first card was pretty basic.

I got the idea for the next card from http://www.making-birthday-cards.com/ its called a zig zag card. This design gives great dimension and free stands for display unlike pop up cards which have to be held open. I can see many possibilities for this card.

I didn't stamp a sentiment in the long journal box yet just in case i want to use it for something other than a birthday. This is a view from the top (hence the name zig zag).

Well that's all folks.
Cheers, Donna

Cute Critters Cards

Gday all,

Today I stumbled across a new web site www.pinkcatstudio.com whilst looking for digital stamps. I have heard a bit about them of late and thought I would set my self a challenge. Make at least 3 cards using only paper out of my off cuts box and my new digi stamp. This is what I came up with.

I know this will be my mums favourite one, it is definitely my daughters favourite because they both love yellow. Anyways I used Sassafras Lass Vintage YUMMY pleasantly puzzled for the back ground, the journaling block is a Sassafras Lass Anthem Sweet Treats cardstock sticker, all the words are from the Kaisercraft BABY acrylic stamp set and of course my digi stamp of the monkey riding the giraffe is from pink cat studio.

This one I scraplifted the general design from the pink cat studio website and used scraps of generic paper from my off cuts box.

This one I again used some generic scraps of paper out of my box, I gave the green oval some dimentional texture using my jewelry peg board as I am yet to get a die cut machine. I also put some little kindy glitz dots randomly down each side.

Well that's all folks. Cheers Donna

Graphic 45 Bathing Beauties Cards

Gday all

Ive gone a bit vintage crazy and when I found this new company Graphic 45 I instantly fell in love.
If your a scrapbooker and you like vintage your going to love their stuff.
Anyways I thought I would post a quick tutorial on how I made these gorgeous cards, so here goes.

I started out with a standard cream coloured card blank and lined it with the patterned side of the bathing beauties paper.

I cut a piece of corrugated cardboard 10.5 x 11.5 cm and rubbed my Timber Brown Stazon ink over it.

Next I grabbed my earthy red/brown ink and rubbed over as before.

I cut a piece of lace and layered it on the left hand side.

Then I pushed a large button through the middle of a burgundy silk flower and stitched it to the bottom left corner of the corrugated card.

I arranged 4 feathers as shown and stitched them to the corrugated card.

Next I slipped my bathing beauty gal under the flower and stuck her down with some glue dots. I also sewed on a button in the top right hand corner of the card.

I inked the edges on the outer side of my card blank and stamped the back. Then stuck my corrugated cardboard to the front added a little bird and a stamped and embossed flower and ....

Ta Daaa...

Hope your inspired to give these beautiful papers a go.

Cheers Donna
